We have never seen so many blooming cacti on our travels as on our tour through Southwest California and Arizona. The largest of them are the Saguaros; like columns they often rise twelve meters in the air. The largest specimen ever measured was almost 24 meters high!
Cactus Country
Other species include the many different Chollas, (the best known are the Buckhorn Cholla and the Teddy Bear Cholla), the Santa Cruz Beehive Cactus, the Scarlet Hedgehog, and finally the Engelmann Prickly Pear. Here is a selection of the most beautiful photos.
