San Antonio (TX)

The second-largest city in Texas after Houston is the largest second-largest city in any US state (sounds complicated, but after reading it twice it seems quite simple). At the same time, it’s the oldest city in Texas; the Spanish-Mexican influence is evident, especially in the five historic Missions. The River Walk, a roughly five-kilometer riverfront promenade along the San Antonio River, features subtropical vegetation in many places, complemented by cafes, boutiques and restaurants. A walk along the river is highly recommended.
