Québec City is the capital of the province and probably the most European city in North America. The well-preserved old town around the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, the city’s landmark, invites visitors to stroll and shop. Upper and lower town are connected by a small funicular. A completely preserved city wall runs around the upper town, adjoined by a citadel. From Terrasse Dufferin you have a fantastic view of the St. Lawrence River, not yet too wide at this point.
