They shaped the landscape of the vast plains of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba like no other building: Grain elevators, often referred to by the Canadians as the “cathedrals of the prairies”. Many of them since had to make way for progress. However, if you follow the railroad lines that cross the vast plains of the prairies, you can still find elevators that are actively used today.
