Tony Cragg is one of the most important visual artists of our time. His impressive sculptures are characterized by a wavy and swirling structure; the dynamic of his works of art often seems to freeze in mid-motion. His works can be found in many European cities, but also in the USA, true to the artist’s motto: “Only art helps against the monotony of our cities”.
In 2006, Tony Cragg acquired a large overgrown park with the listed Villa Waldfrieden in Wuppertal to create the Waldfrieden Sculpture Park. The park was opened in September 2008 and features sculptures by the artist as well as other works by renowned modern and contemporary artists.
