The works by Roxy Paine that can be seen as public art are mostly from his “Dendroids” series. His tree-like sculptures are based on thorough research and observation of a variety of trees, which enables him to design fictitious tree species according to his own ideas.
Paine develops a unique language for each of his trees, creating his shiny silver art objects through the process of welding together cylindrical tubes and rods that become increasingly thinner towards the top. Up to now, there are around 25 of these sculptures worldwide.
