In contrast to our travels through the USA, so-called roadside attractions are limited in Australia. The country is somehow more “normal”; modesty and calmness are part of the collective character traits here. We captured many impressions on this trip that reflect this attitude to life.
In the morning, a cup of excellent coffee, available even in the smallest village, with some delicious scones from Bakers Delight. At lunchtime with the surfboard to the nearest beach, which is never far away (unless you live in Alice Springs). And in the evening, a glass of wine from one of the world’s best wineries.

However, we also recorded the less pleasant aspects: the constant danger of collisions with wild animals, especially with the kangaroos; the devastating bush fires of recent years and the traces of climate change, which are also becoming visible in Australia. Or the permanent water shortage in almost all parts of the country, which is a serious problem despite the funny tap.
