If you believe the Internet and travel guides, they are the undisputed number one tourist attraction in all of Canada – famous Niagara Falls. However, the Canadians have to share the falls with the USA. The biggest part of the larger Horseshoe Falls, 670 meters wide and 57 meters high, belongs to Canada while the smaller American Falls are exclusively on US territory. The border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York runs through the Horseshoe Falls. The waterfalls are the largest in North America and offer visitors an incomparable spectacle.
Niagara Falls
The cities on both sides of the falls are called Niagara Falls (not very imaginative) and are connected by the Rainbow Bridge (passport control!). On the Canadian side there are some nice tourist attractions like the Upside-Down House or Hershey’s Chocolate World. If, like us, you like coffee – the prices in town are outrageous and a caffè latte can easily cost 10 Dollar. But no matter – Niagara Falls are just incredible…
