Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming was founded in 1872 and is the oldest national park in the world. You can watch pelicans, wapitis, marmots, moose and many other animals here. Bison are omnipresent – sometimes they even walk on the highway. And, of course, there are the hot springs – actually it bubbles everywhere in the park, sometimes loamy grey, sometimes sulphur-yellow, sometimes snow white. If the water inside the earth gets too hot, it shoots out of the ground as in the case of Old Faithful, probably the most famous geyser. With a height of 55 meters and a volume of many thousands of gallons of water once an hour, making it the absolute tourist attraction in the park.
