Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvaniaand the sixth largest city in the United States. The famous Liberty Bell, which previously toured the country as a symbol of independence, has been here again since 1915. Independence Hall, where the bell once hung, is considered the birthplace of American democracy; it was here that independence was proclaimed in 1776 and the Constitution was adopted. The oldest post office is also located in town, as are the first two banks in the U.S. and America’s first zoo.
